Common Name: Texas Bluebonnet
Species: Lupinus Texensis
P.S. I harvested the seed for this flower from a wildflower bluebonnet patch that was growing nearby.
REPOST - Update- She came to live with us just over a year ago as a tiny six weeks old kitten. Now she rules the roost.
She had been dumped on the side of a road in Dublin and found by a kind person who brought her to the local vet. This was just at the time we were looking for a kitten. So we brought her home and rather foolishly let her loose in our kitchen where she promptly hid under the dishwasher and we couldn’t get her out . Eventually we got help from the DSPCA. All is well now, though. She is happy and much loved in her new home.

Some places, no matter how many times you go back for a visit - retain these quality and ability to surprise you as if you saw them for the first time. This “wow” feeling that goes through you from head to toe, this thankful gratitude that you were able to witness this beauty, this silent amazement with which you stand before nature’s grandeur… Know what I mean? Forgetmenot Pond is one of these places.
And if you have a sec, check here for our past photos from this memorable place.

This was taken last Sunday morning with the company of Mick H and Ant. The drive up there looked promosing with the cloud cover out to see sparadic. However, whilst walking to the castle the open areas of sky moved southwards and cloud took its place leaving only a slither on the horizon for the sun to appear for less than 2 minutes before it headed into the clouds.
This place is kind of special, iconic and well photographed. It is a hard to navigate place and you always want to move the camera to the castle to shoot, hence why most shots look pretty much the same here (including mine)
This shot is blended from 2 images, one for the forground including the water and an image 1 stop darker for the sky to give it some extra mood. The exposure time for the water was 20 seconds to give it some nice movement and smoothness. Lab mode within photoshop was used for selective sharpening on the lightness channel and slight saturation of the A & B channels.
Hope you enjoy :)
