The morning they met the clouds:
Trudging across a private field at 6.30am is certainly something I’m more motivated to do when I’m temporarily in the company of one of my favourite photographers. However, it was the odd moment when I was recovering from the shock of the cold field on my toes that made for an interesting shot.
We also ran about (trying not to fall over our hems) as in Brooke’s image…
I stayed with Brooke Shaden for about 10 days and it was one of the best trips I have ever had. I have written on my blog about my trip to San Diego and am posting more about our workshops and collabs soon.
Loads of exciting stuff happened on the trip. I met with three galleries in total, one of which I may be exhibiting next year in San Diego and another who may be hosting a collaborative show between Brooke and I, for which we are very keen to produce a whole new collab series. We also hosted two successful workshops in LA, met with a movie producer, and had time to shoot together in a creek, the sea, here in the mist of a field at dawn… and even in a dark ‘twiggy’ wood where we shot a sinister short film with model Olivia.
I have also been incredibly inspired by the whole experience of working with and alongside Brooke, and I am very grateful to her for that, and feel so privileged for our friendship.
I’m now back in the bleak rainy UK, about to move to Kent, to live in a village I have never even visited before… interesting!
