This was taken last Sunday morning with the company of Mick H and Ant. The drive up there looked promosing with the cloud cover out to see sparadic. However, whilst walking to the castle the open areas of sky moved southwards and cloud took its place leaving only a slither on the horizon for the sun to appear for less than 2 minutes before it headed into the clouds.
This place is kind of special, iconic and well photographed. It is a hard to navigate place and you always want to move the camera to the castle to shoot, hence why most shots look pretty much the same here (including mine)
This shot is blended from 2 images, one for the forground including the water and an image 1 stop darker for the sky to give it some extra mood. The exposure time for the water was 20 seconds to give it some nice movement and smoothness. Lab mode within photoshop was used for selective sharpening on the lightness channel and slight saturation of the A & B channels.
Hope you enjoy :)
